All unauthorised construction be requarised without penalty:BJP

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today demanded that all the constructions done so far be regularised without any penalty under the new Master Plan 2021.

In a meeting of BJP municipal councillors, held under the chairmanship of senior BJP leader V K Malhotra and attended by Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan, it was demanded that the Centre should implement the Master Plan 2021 with necessary amendments in such a way that all the constructions done so far may be declared as automatically regularised without any penalty.

The BJP leaders said that the additional constructions done in city by the people were necessary for their family needs as for the last eight years, DDA and the Delhi government did not provide residential accomodation, commercial and basic amenities according to the needs of the people of Delhi.

''This is the reason people were forced to make extensions in their premises. This problem is the girt of the Congress.

It should solve the problem of illegal constructions immediately by accepting recommendations about amnesty by the Prof Malhotra committee and the Tejender Khanna committee.

All additional constructions made so far should be declared regularised by amending the rules as otherwise it would become an arena of fighting between Delhi government and the people, the BJP leaders said.

They warned the Centre, Delhi government and the MCD that if they tried to uproot the people of Delhi again, the Congress would have to face grave consequences.

''The BJP will make every possible sacrifice keeping in view the interests of the people of Delhi and will fight with them in the streets,''the BJP leaders said.

The BJP statement comes close on the heels of statement by Union Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken that buildings with more than 15m of unauthorised construction and those above four storeys would not get relief under the New Master Plan.

Addressing a delegation of MCD councillors who had come to meet him last evening in the wake of the situation arising out of the August 10 Supreme Court order staying certain provisions of the Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Act, 2006, Mr Maken also said any commercial activities in 'A' and 'B' category areas of Delhi would not be allowed under the new Master Plan, which was likely to be implemented by the first week of September.
