12 top teams for 13th All India J P Atray Cricket

Chandigarh, Aug 26 (UNI) Twelve teams have confirmed their participation in the 13th All India J P Atray Cricket Tournament which will be held from September 17 to 27 here.

The matches will be played at DAV Sector 8, DAV College, Sector 10, St John's Sector 26 and Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Sector 3, Panchkula and the final will be played at Sector 16, Cricket Stadium here.

According to Vivek Atray, chairman of the organising committee, the teams have been divided into four pools of three teams each.

The four pools are : Pool A: Minerva Cricket Academy, All India Associate Banks, Indian Oil Corporation.

Pool B: PCA Colts, Air India, Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.

Pool C: Rajasthan Cricket Association, Mumbai Cricket Association, LIC Club.

Pool D: Punjab Cricket Club, O N G C, Canara Bank.

Top cricketers namely Wasim Jaffar, Zahir Khan for Indian Oil Corporation, Robin Uthapa, R.P. Singh, Sidarth Trivedi, Suresh Raina for Air India, Dinesh Mongia, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Gagandeep Singh, Pankaj Dharmani, VRV Singh for PCC&PCA Colts, Venkat Parsad and Sunil for Canara Bank, Mithun Minhas, Sarandeep Singh , Amit Bhandari, Ajay Ratra, Rahul Sanghvi and Gagan Khoda for ONGC are likely to take part in the prestigious tournament.

Minerva Cricket Academy are the defending champions.

All the matches shall be of 50 overs each and the tournament shall be paid as per the latest ICC Rules for one day matches.

This year, the cash prize for winners has been enhanced from Rs 1.00 lakh to Rs 1.20 lakh while the runners-up amount has been enhanced from Rs 50, 000 to Rs 60,000.

In addition, there will be between the two losing semi finals to determine the third and fourth position, which will attract a cash prize of Rs 35,000-15,000, respectively.

Apart from this, there will be winners and runners-up trophies as also the Man of the Match awards and Special Awards for best bowler, best batsman and best all-rounder of the tournament.
