Weston launches value-added products in Kerala

Kochi, Aug 25: Consumer durables maker Weston, on a resurgent path, launched a new range of value-added products and made its foray into the Kerala market.

Speaking to reporters here yesterday, Vice-President Marketing Sunil Sethi said path-breaking new launches included the flat TV range with Ultimate One Chip (UOC) technology, providing high definition picture quality and digital surround sound. The brand would also introduce Direct to Home TV with a satellite receiver giving access to a wide range of TV and radio channels, he added.

Mr Sethi said the country's first CTV with in-built clock and night lamp would also be coming out of the stable. In a bid to provide better and faster services to Kerala customers, Weston had opened a local sales and service offices and godown here.

Plans were on the anvil to open offices in Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad to streamline operations.

The company posted 27 per cent growth in colour television sales and the DVD numbers also grew by almost 50 per cent, added Mr Sethi.

He said the company was striving to achieve higher figures this financial year with a target of 50 per cent growth.

As part of the Onam offer, Weston had introduced some attractive offers for the customers.
