Sugar prices ease on account of lack of fresh demand

Mumbai, Aug 25 (UNI) Prices of spot sugar eased on account of lack of fresh demand, traders at the sugar market said here today .

Sugar prices of small grade fell by Rs five per quintal on thin buying support while medium grade rose by Rs 16 per quintal on reduced stock supply.

Sugar prices in ex-mill of small and medium grades declined by Rs five each per quintal on increase offers by stockists.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,821/1,861, medium grade: Rs 1,856/1,920.

Ex-mill: small grade: Rs 1,805/1,825, medium grade: Rs 1,830/1,870.
