Slain former BJP MLA's wife, daughter, son-in-law questioned

Nagpur, Aug 25 (UNI) Police today said they have questioned the wife, daughter and son-in-law of slain former BJP MLA Yadavrao Shikhare, who was murdered by his younger son Prashant last week.

Shikhare (53) was brutally stabbed to death by two unidentified men, when alone, at his home in Washim in the wee hours of August 17.

He had represented Washim constituency from 1999 to 2004. He was a professor of Marathi in a college in Washim.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Sahebrao Darne said they had questioned Shikhare's wife Shobha, daughter Jyotsana and son-in-law Chandrashekhar Kasar yesterday in order to get clues in the case, including the possible motive behind the murder.

They have already arrested Prashant and his friend Shrikant Navghare from Malkapur tehsil town in neighbouring Buldhana district in connection with the murder. The police are still on the lookout for two more suspects, he added.
