Rashtriya Navanirmana Vedike to celebrate Hegde's birth anniversary

Bangalore, Aug 25 (UNI) Rastriya Navanirmana Vedike will organise various activities like free health check up camps, blood donation and cataract eye operations to the needy to mark the 80th birth anniversary of Former Karnataka Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde here on August 29.

Speaking to newsmen here Vedike Chairperson Mamata Hegde Nichani said Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar would inaugurate the birthday celebrations in presence of dignitaries including Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajsekharan, Home Minister M P Prakash and Opposition Leader in the Assembly N Dharam Singh.

She said the Vedike would become more active in coming years by organising various functions including seminars on vital issues throughout the state besides highlighting the leader's past achievements in various fields during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the state.
