Priyanka, Rahul Gandhi Brigade releases pigeons

Hyderabad, Aug 25: Members of the Priyanka, Rahul Gandhi Brigade today released pigeons at Tank Bund for communal peace and harmony in the context of the ensuing Ganesh Chaturthi festivities.

Brigade leaders Manoj Alexander and A Pushwanth Reddy released the birds in the presence of religious leaders of all communities who later shared a meal.

Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Manoj said they chose Tank Bund as the venue since the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony took place there every year. The Brigade always advocated national integrity, peace and communal harmony.

''It is often seen that some anti-social elements want to disturb our peace for individual gains. We want to spread the message of brotherhood and build religious tolerance,'' he added.
