Private medical college de-recognised
Ujjain, MP, Aug 25 (UNI) The dispute between private sector's R D Gardi Medical College and the Vikram University would be handed over to the university's executive committee.
Earlier, the Medical Council of India (MCI) had de-recognised the college degree and medicos had been staging demonstration outside the university since the past three days.
Vice-Chancellor Ramrajesh Mishra called a meeting of the district administration and the college management.
During the meeting, Mr Mishra said examination could not be conducted, as the MCI had de-recognised the degree. He informed that a committee -- formed on the directives of the Supreme Court -- found that the college management had not fulfilled MCI norms.
Besides inefficient teachers, imparting of education was not being carried out as per norms.
The committee recommended that police complaints must be lodged against such elements in order to prevent them from exploiting students in future.
Mr Mishra said a letter must be written to the Chancellor and to the MCI to obtain special permission for holding the exam or present the matter before the university's executive committee.
The meeting decided to present the matter before the executive committee on September 2.
However, the students were sticking to their demand for organising examination.
Besides, an allegation has been made that the college management was inciting students to stage demonstration.
