Power theft to the tune of Rs 23 lakh unearthed

Kochi, Aug 25 (UNI) The anti-power theft squad of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has unearthed power theft and other malpractices amounting to Rs 23.29 lakh in Ernakulam district this month.

The 'culprits,' included popular restaurants and internet cafes, IG of Police (Vigilance and Security), KSEB, Rishi Raj Singh said in a release here today.

The cases pertained to 48 instances of theft and 57 other malpractices, they added.
