Gopalganj, Bihar, Aug 25 (UNI) A police team today left for New Delhi to arrest RJD MP Anirudh Prasad Yadav, alias Sadhu Yadav, who is evading arrest in connection with a criminal case.

Police superintendent Rakesh Rathi said here that the team was sent to arrest the RJD MP following rejection of anticipatory bail by the district and sessions judge of Gopalganj yesterday.

He said copy of the non-bailable arrest warrant issued from local court was earlier sent to Delhi police on August 8 for its execution but the RJD leader could not be arrested.

The case is related to manhandling of a candidate during the recently held Panchayat elections. As per the charges Mr Yadav and his body guards had manhandled Dinesh Kushwaha, candidate to the post of Phulwariya Block Pramukh elections for which were held on June 29, 2006.

Earlier, while hearing the anticipatory bail application the Patna High court had directed Mr Yadav to file the petition before the same court which had cancelled his anticipatory bail earlier on July 17 this year.
