Ranchi, Aug 25 (UNI) Jharkhand Parliamentary Affairs Minister Madhu Koda today said that people in his constituency, Jagannathpur, are taking out his funeral procession to protest lack of road infrastructure, where crores had already been spent.

The opposition smelling another chance to take on the ruling BJP-led NDA immediately demanded CBI inquiry into the matter and urged the government to blacklist the contractor involved.

Mr Koda, drawing the government's attention to the Hat-Gamharia road in his constituency, said Sambhu Sinha of Lakesari Builders had taken the contract and Rs three crore had already been released.

Now fresh tender was floated for the same road and another firm had obtained the contract.

The Minister has urged the government to ensure that Sambhu Sinha did not construct the road under the disguise of a new firm.

PWD (Roads) Minister Sudesh Mahto said the foundation stone of the road would be laid on September two.

The opposition members demanded CBI inquiry into the matter adding that the contractor should be blacklisted.

Chief Minister Arjun Munda said he was in favour getting the road constructed quickly but prior to that he would like to persue the files.

Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari said the truck association members has complained that sometimes trucks got stuck on that road for 15 days.
