Newly-married woman rescued from 20-ft borewell
Hubli, Aug 25 (UNI) A newly-married woman, who had accidentally fallen into a 20-ft borewell in the fields at Sikkeri village in Bagalkot district of Karnataka, was rescued this afternoon after a four-hour drilling operation.
Police said Kallawwa Gadigeppanvar (18) had accidentally fallen into the open borewell last night. On hearing her cries early today, a person in the nearby farm informed the villagers and the police.
With the help of a JCB, a parallel hole was dug, taking care that the mud did not collapse into the borewell and Gadigeppanvar was safely rescued. She was immediately sent to the district hospital for check up, police added.
