Jan Morch, NCP, JD(S) alliance to stage 'dharna' on Delhi power woes
New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) Taking cudgels on behalf of 'all seriously concerned' about Delhi's problems, the Jan Morcha, NCP and JD (S) will stage a 'dharna' at Delhi Secretariat on August 29 to protest the power woes of Delhiites.
Addressing a joint press conference here Nationalist Congress Party Delhi chief Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, along with Jan Morcha leaders Raj Babbar and Shoaib Iqbal, said even after four years of privatisation, claimed to be the panacea for all ills, Delhiites continue to suffer from power cuts.
''Not just load shedding, speeding meters, inflated bills and a care-a-damn administration had added to the problems of the common man,'' he said.
We are going to apprise the government of the people's sufferings and press for solving them at the earliest, he said.
Mr Babbar said it was shameful that the leader of the party on whom the onus of looking after people's problems lay had given up on the electricity problems front and accepted that it was beyond her reach, pointing to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's assertion in this regard.
Mr Shoaib Iqbal said the demonstartion was to convey the strong resentment of the masses against the government's indifference to their problems and concerns.
