Insane takes away rifle from Army vehicle; triggers panic

Baramulla, Aug 25 (UNI) An 'insane' person today created panic in the main market of north Kashmir's Kupwara district when he took away an automatic rifle of the troops of 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and moved freely displaying the weapon, police sources said.

The sources told UNI that the troops of 41 RR had parked their vehicle at a particular place in the Kupwara main market and kept their service weapons in it.

As they were busy frisking and searching people, the insane person took away one of the rifles from the vehicle, they added.

When some people noticed the insane person carrying a weapon in his hands and moving freely in the main market, they informed the police who arrested him, the sources said.

Police later returned the weapon to the troops, they added.
