Income tax sleuths seize assests worth Rs 105.29 crores

Kolkata, Aug 25 (UNI) Income tax sleuths raided the office premises and residences of a real estate business group in the city and recovered incriminating documents showing unaccounted wealth to the tune of Rs 105.29 crores.

Describing it as one of the largest seizures in the state so far, official sources here this evening said during the nightlong raids yesterday in the Group's 35 different locations spread across the city and its neighbourhood last night, large number of incriminating documents in support of a huge amount of unaccounted income and investment in jewellery by the Group totalling Rs 105.29 crores had been seized.

Moreover, a good number of personal lockers in the name of different family members of the business group had also been sealed, the sources said adding that later the promoters made voluntary disclosure of Rs 29.35 crores to IT officials.
