HM still waiting for WB govt nod for sale of land
New Delhi, Aug 25: Hindustan Motors today said it still awaits the nod of the West Bengal government for the sale of land at its Uttarpara unit.
With reference to a news item published in a web portal suggesting that West Bengal Cabinet has approved the proposal of the company, Hindustan Motors said it has not yet been informed of such a decision either by the government of West Bengal or for that matter by anybody.
Hindustan Motors plans to sell 314 acres of land out of 709 acres at its factory at Uttarpara, in Hooghly district.
The company will react to the said news item if and when the approval is communicated, it said in a statement.
HM's proposal is pending with the state government for more than three years.
Proceeds of the sale would be used for strengthening the company's car and auto component business.
