Haryana to have stadia with international standards

Gurgaon, Aug 25 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that sports stadia with the facilities of international standards would be set up in various cities of the state.

He said this while addressing media persons after presiding over the District Public Relation and Grievance Committees meetings here.

He said that Senior All India Football Championship and Santosh Trophy to be held from September 14 in Gurgaon and Faridabad district would prove new milestones in the sport arena of the state.

The chief minister said that Football was a popular sport all around the world and the state government was committed to promote the Football players.

He said there was a proposal to set up a Football nursery in Gurgaon to prepare international level players.

Both the stadiums at Gurgaon and Faridabad would be provided with all the facilities in view of the forthcoming events.

He said that the Ch. Devi Lal Stadium of Gurgaon was the first stadium in the state where the arrangements of flood lights had been made. The state government would play a significant role in the Commonwealth Games to be held in the country in the year 2010.

Reiterating this commitment to give a new directions to the development in the state, the chief minister said that the process of strengthening the economic sector in the country had already started which would not only provide large scale job opportunities to the youth of the State but would also achieve new heights.
