Flora EXPO 2006 in New Delhi from September 8

Bangalore, Aug 25 (UNI) A three-day Flora Expo 2006, organised jointly by Media Today Group and iFlora, the Indian Flowers and Ornamental Plants (Welfare) Association and supported by the National Horticultural Mission, will be held at Pragathi Maiden, New Delhi from September Eight.

Talking to newsmen here today, Agricultural and processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Chairman K S Money said that the event comes in the wake of India's status as an emerging 'Flower Power'.

The Expo would showcase the Country's capabilities, the variety and ability to supply quality flowers to international markets.

India now had the potential to become one of the foremost suppliers of floriculture material to international market, he added.

He said APEDA was supporting creation of infrastructure, development of quality flower products, effective market promotion.

Development of domestic market for experimenting new products and scaling up production would be its new focus," he added.
