DMDK to go it alone in local body polls: Vijayakanth
Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Aug 25 (UNI) The Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam (DMDK) Founder-Leader Vijayakanth today said his party will go it alone in the local body elections.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Vijayakanth said his party was growing in strength by the day and will fight the elections on its own.
On Sri Lankan issue, the actor-turned politician accused parties on Tamil Nadu of politicising the issue without knowing the ground realities.
Regarding the completion of 100 days in power by the DMK Government, Mr Vijayakanth said he could not find fault with the administration.
He said the party will will work on Poverty Eradication Programme till September 14 coinciding with the DMDK entering its second year of founding.
The DMDK Chief said he was getting more time to speak in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after he took up the issue with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
