CWG organising committee, CII to join hands for Olympic bid

New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) IOA president and Delhi Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi today stressed upon the need for facilitating and encouraging industry and business involvement in sports and sports promotion.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today formally launched its initiative to market India as the preferred business partner and investment destination by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010.

Mr Kalmadi said that the the Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 would work with the CII in bidding for the Olympics 2016.

He also said that the CII will be engaged in different business at various international Games fora including the upcoming Asian Games in Doha (Qatar).

He confirmed that they would look to CII to manage the Volunteer programme for the Commonwealth Games 2010.
