Animal and Agriculture Industry related ILDEX begins on Aug 27
New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) Over 150 companies from India and abroad will be participating in the International Livestock and Dairy Expo 2006 (ILDEX) being held in the country from August 27.
The 3-day mega expo, to be inaugurated by Minister of State for Agriculture Kantilal Bhuria, will feature the latest international trends in farm equipment, poultry breeding, feed and feed additives, slaughtering and processing and dairy processing equipment.
The expo is being particularly represented by the animal and agriculture industry to use it as a platform for knowledge exchange in these fields presently in use in other countries.
Of the 150 participating companies, 40 of them are from China, USA, India, Israel, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Netherlands, England and Korea. Over 15,000 visitors are expected to throng the expo.
The expo gives special importance to the ever-growing concern of health related problems of livestock and poultry like the bird flu epidemic that threatens the survival of poultry industry worldwide.
Some of the biggest names like ABIC Biological Lab Teva Ltd.
Israel, Maharashtra Poultry Association of India, Zucami Poultry Equipment, Spain and Ajinomoto Co., Thailand will be showcasing their respective area of expertise and technology.
The Indian poultry is a rapidly growing industry with an estimated worth of over 6.7 billion dollars. India is the second largest egg and the fifth largest broiler producer. About 60 per cent of the 490 million poultry farms belong to the commercial sector and the rest are small backyard producers, on which over 3 million livelihoods depend.
Previously, this expo had been held in China and Vietnam with over 10,000 international delegates visiting each exhibition.
The second edition of the ILDEX is being jointly organised by N C C Exhibition Organiser Co Ltd of Thailand and PIXIE Publication India Pvt Ltd.
