Anand Sharma to visit Greece, Romania from Aug 27-Sep one

New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma will visit Greece and Romania from August 27 to September one for discussions on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Mr Sharma who will be in Greece from August 27--29, will have talks with Greek Foreign Minister Mrs Dora Bakoyannis and Tourism Minister Mrs Fani Pali Petralia.

The visit to Greece comes at a time when it is set to take over Presidency of the UN Security Council in September.

The Council is dealing with challenges like Lebanon, Iran and the election of the next UN Secretary General for which India's nominee is Shashi Tharoor.

During his visit to Romania, at the invitation of Romanian Foreign Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu. Mr Sharma will be the guest speaker at the Annual Reunion of Romanian Diplomacy.

Mr Sharma will also call on Romanian President Basescu, Vice President Vacaroiu and Prime Minister Tariceanu.

He will have one-on-one with the Romanian Foreign Minister.

After the one-on-one, the two Ministers will lead their respective sides at delegation-level talks.

The Romanian President is scheduled to pay a State visit to India in October.

The Romanian Vice President had visited India in October last year.
