Water level in major reservoirs increase
Hyderabad, Aug 24 (UNI) The water level in major reservoirs across the river Krishna in Andhra Pradesh increased following heavy discharge from Karnataka.
The inflow into Vamsadhara came down by 37,231 cusecs with rains in the catchment areas of Orissa.
In wake of the heavy discharge into river Krishna by upper riparian states of Maharashtra and Karnataka, the irrigation officials here stepped up water release to 2.15 lakh cusecs from Jurala, 2.19 lakh cusecs from Srisailam, 3.53 lakh cusecs from Nagarjunsagar and 2.75 lakh cusecs from the Prakasam Barrage after diverting 17,442 cusecs into irrigation canals, official sources said.
