Two file papers for Purulia Lok Sabha by-election

Purulia, Aug 24 (UNI) All India Forward Bloc nominee Narahori Mahto and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Suraj Narayan Mahto today filed their nomination papers for Purulia Lok Sabha by-election scheduled to be held on September 16.

They were the firsts to file nomination papers since receiving of such application began yesterday, according to election officer and District Magistrate D.Banerjee.

The last of date of receiving application is September 30, scrutinity is on the following day and last date of withdrawal of name is September 2.

The seat fell vacant after Forward Bloc leader Bir Singh Mahto resigned following his conviction by a local court in a rape case of 1982.
