Two-day Nagaland Assembly adjourned sine die

Kohima, Aug 24 (UNI) The 12th Session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die today by speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie.

In the second day sitting today the House passed five Government Bills, which are the Nagaland Women Commission Bill, 2006, the Nagaland Municipal (First Amendment) Bill, 2006, the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University (Nagaland) Bill, 2006, the Global Open University (Nagaland) Bill, 2006 and the Nagaland Appropriation (No.3) Bill, 2006, when the Speaker put the Bills to pass by a Voice Vote.

The House also passed a government Resolution for constitution of a Standing Committee of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly for scrutinising acts of Parliament, including amendment of Constitution for application to State of Nagaland under Article 371-A (1)(a) of Constitution of India.

The House also discussed and passed the Supplementary Demands for Grants for regularisation of excess expenditure for the year 1994- 1995, which was also passed by a voice vote.
