Train services disrupted after 8611 UP Ranchi-Varanasi train loot

Latehar, Aug 24 (UNI) Train services were disrupted for an hour after armed criminals robbed passengers of 8611 UP Ranchi-Varanasi Express near Hehegara under Barakakana-Barawadih railway station in Latehar district last night.

Angry passengers stopped the train at Daltonganj to protest the incident, which disrupted services for an hour.

The criminals entered the train at Latehar creating panic among the passengers.

They assaulted the passengers, molested women and pulled the chain at Hehegara after robbing about Rs 55,000 and valuables worth about Rs 50,000.

The security staff was locked in another bogey during the robbery.
