Three-day Kargil festival concludes
Kargil, Aug 24 (UNI) The three-day Kargil festival held to promote tourism, culture and traditions of the region concluded here today.
The closing ceremony of the festival, which began on August 22, was held at Bemathang and attended by more than 7000 people, including several foreigners.
Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil Chief Executive Councilor Haji Asghar Karbalai was the chief guest.
During the festival, artistes from the region presented their traditional art and crafts. Cultural and traditional programmes, archery and horse polo were some of the attractions.
A large number of tourists, including foreigners, tasted Kargil food at a stall set up by the Regional Agriculture Research Society, (RARS) Kargil. The Army also displayed weapons at the festival.
