Sensex trades up in the intra-noon trade

Mumbai, Aug 24 (UNI) The BSE sensex today in the intranoon trade touched a high of 11,461 points and is currently trading 24 points up at 11,431.05 points, on expectations that there will not be any hike in the domestic fuel prices, as the crude oil prices surge globally.

The midcap is up 0.04 per cent and the smallcap is up 0.25 per cent.

Amongst the sectoral indices Consumer Durables is down 0.15 per cent, Capital Goods is down 0.46 per cent and IT is down 0.04 per cent. However the Oil and Gas sector was trading up 1.32 per cent.

Amongst the gainers on the index were-Guajarat Ambuja Cement, Reliance Industries, Hindalco, Tata Steel and ACC all up between 1.25 to 2.45 per cent.

The losers on the index were- ICICI, L&T, ONGC, Reliance Energy, and Grasim Industries all down between 0.72 to 0.94 per cent.
