Sania to take on Karolina Sprem in US Open first round

New Delhi, Aug 24 (UNI) Sania Mirza will take on Croatian Karolina Sprem in the first round of the US Open starting August 28.

Sania will then play the winner of 14th seed Francesca Schiavone and Romina Oprandi -- both from Italy -- in the next round if she gets past Sprem.

Meanwhile, Sania breezed past American wildcard entrant Alexa Glatch in the first round of 74,800 dollar Forest Hills Open in New York to move into the second round.
