Rashmi topples Sweta, cruises into last four

Chennai, Aug 24 (UNI) Qualifier Rashmi Teltumbde of Maharashtra scripted a major upset when she stopped top seed Sweta Kumari Solanki of Delhi in the Girls singles under-18 quarter finals of the adidas-MCC National Junior Hard Court Tennis Chamoionship here today.

Rashmi defeated Solanki 6-3, 6-1 in straight sets and entered the semifinals.

In the under-14 girls singles, sixth seeded Prerna Bhambri of Delhi toppled top seed Divija Mandava of Andhra Pradesh 6-4, 7-5 to enter the semi finals, along with second seeded V Archana of Andhra Pradesh, Rashme Teltumbde of Mahararahstra and Kyra Shroff of Karnataka.
