Padra taluka in Vadodara declared cholera-hit
Vadodara, Aug 24 (UNI) The district authorities today declared entire Padra taluka as cholera-hit after four patients tested positive for the water-borne disease.
All the four patients, admitted to the Padra CHC, were said to be recovering.
Chief District Health Officer (CDHO) Bhagwat Etare said a team of doctors and paramedical staff had been sent to the affected areas and a massive cleaning operation including water chlorination and distribution of chlorine tablets, had been started.
Stating that fluid samples had been collected in several suspected cases of cholera, Dr Etare said health officials had identified a well providing water to the Padra nagarpalika as the main source of water contamination.
