One killed, four wounded in Kashmir accident

Srinagar, Aug 24 (UNI) One person was killed and four others critically wounded when their vehicle was hit by an Army truck in Pattan area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district last evening, official sources said today.

They said a Maruti car with five people was on its way to Baramulla from here when it was hit by a speeding Army truck coming from the opposite direction at Tappar in Pattan area.

The sources said while one of the occupants of the Maruti car was killed on the spot, four others were critically wounded.

The injured have been hospitalised.

Police have registered a case against the driver of the Army vehicle for negligent and rash driving, they added.
