New oil refineries at Paradip, Bhatinda and Bina
New Delhi, Aug 24: Public Sector oil companies are setting up as many as three oil refineries in Orissa, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
The new oil refineries are being set up at Paradip (Orissa) by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), at Bhatinda (Punjab) by the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limtied and at Bina (Madhya Pradesh) by the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limtied, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dinsha Patel said in a written reply.
In addition to these, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited(ONGC), through its subsidiary Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) is exploring the possibility of setting up an export-oriented refinery in the coastal belt of Andhra Pradesh near Kakinada, a well-head refinery at Barmer, Rajasthan and export-oriented refinery at Managalore, Karnataka.
The minister also gave details regarding progress, completion and estimated cost of Paradip, Bhatinda and Bina projects.
