Men, women volleyball teams kick off with facile wins in SAF Games
Colombo, Aug 24 (UNI) Indian men and women spikers proved miles ahead of their regional rivals as both the teams kicked off ther SAF Games campaign with facile victories at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium here today.
Defending the Gold they won in Islamabad, the men spikers began their Pool A campaign with a 25-11 25-16 25-7 pounding of lowly Afghanistan. Yeju Subba Rao was the star performer for India, fetching 13 points alone, while he got able support from MN Vikram and R Rajeev.
The women's team looked equally aggressive against thea hapless Nepal eves who were handed a 25-9, 25-17, 25-11 thrashing.
Indian men meet Bangladesh in their next Pool A match tomorrow, while the eves take on the Maldives.
