Medicos strike against reservation, 20 injured
Jaipur, Aug 24: Police resorted to force to disperse the Medical students and resident doctors here on strike today in protest against the 27 per cent reservation in higher educational institutes.
About twenty students were injured in the lathicharge as students blocked the busy SMS road demanding a hearing with the Chief Minister who was here at the district Information centre to attend a function.
The injured students were admitted a the Sawai Man Singh Hospital.
Rashim Kataria, secretary of the Youth for Equality Forum , Jaipur Chapter said the medicos took out a rally today from Statue Circle to Sawai Mansingh Hospital, shouting slogans against Union Human Resource Minister Arjun Singh in the morning. The students wanted to meet the Chief Minister to hand over a memorandum.
But they were denied a meeting with her. Later, the police used force to disperse the students who blocked roads, adamant on meeting with the chief minister.
