MCD notice to Metro for not following norms in building two malls
New Delhi, Aug 24 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi had sent notices to the Delhi Metro for non-compliance of norms in building of the Shahdara and Civil Lines Malls.
This information was given by Commisioner A K Nigam in a meeting of the Standing Committee here after BJP member Vijendra Gupta, raising the issue, said that as against the requirement of the Metro for obtaining completion certificate for a building on the network, and obtaining sanction of the building plan from the local authority, the DMRC had failed to follow these procedures in building of the Shahdara and Civil Lines Malls.
''As per section 346 of the Delhi Municipal Act, no building constructed in the MCD area can be used without obtaining a completion certificate from the local authority. Hence, DMRC's use of the buildings and construction of other structures without obtaining sanction of the building plan is illegal,''Mr Gupta said in his statement.
