Lawyers boycott courts in Pondy

Pondicherry, Aug 24 (UNI) Functioning of all the courts in Pondicherry were affected following the lawyers boycotting the court proceedings today and observing a fast before the court premises here.

The agitation was to condemn the massacre of Tamil school children by the Sri Lankan army in the Island Nation.

Almost all the leading lawyers took part in the fast.

According to Bar association sources, the lawyers would also resort to a token strike tomorrow.
