Kanpur, Aug 24 (UNI) Following a recent amendment to Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) rules, the famous Green Park Stadium here may not hold any future international cricket matches.

According to fresh rules, only those grounds would be awarded matches, which are under cricket associations.

Green Park, which has seen several top international teams in action, is under the ownership of the Uttar Pradesh government.

Sources said here the Stadium was already short in fulfilling the BCCI criteria, but matches were awarded nonetheless.

Meanwhile, former BCCI treasurer Jyoti Bajpai said Green Park was the only stadium in UP, where international matches were played regularly.

''The matches will be held at Green Park and all possible steps in this regard will be taken,'' he assured.

Confirming amendment in BCCI rules, Mr Bajpai observed that rules could be relaxed to promote the game of cricket.
