Four arrested in connection with murder of Journalist HitendraPrasad
Udupi, Aug 24 (UNI) Police today arrested four members of a gang suspected to be behind the murder of Editor of a local fortnightly, Hitendra Prasad, on August 21.
Police said that Saleem, Dinesh, Ramesh and Manikanta were trying to leave for Mumbai when they were arrested at the railway station.
Prasad was murdered by some unidentified assailants on Monday night while returning after shooting some pictures of a raid on a live band allegedly by Janata Dal (Secular) workers. He was also engaged a verbal duel between the workers and the owners of the band.
Police said investigations have revealed that the gand had also made a futile attempt on Prasad on the morning of August 21 while he was covering a function attended by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge.
