Four arrested for selling illicit liquor

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 24 (UNI) Four people, including the Panchayat president, were arrested here today for selling illicit liquor.

Police said a police team conducted raids at El Endatoor and Melmaruvathoor, among other places, in Kancheepuram district and nabbed the accused.

They were identified as R Ravi(40), Kullammal(55), Sampath(30) and Murugan(30). 350 litres of illicit liquor were seized from them.

A case has been registered and investigation was underway, police added.
