FCI godown sealed for alleged misappropriation of stock
Kochi, Aug 24 (UNI) The Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown in Angamaly was sealed following allegations that foodgrains were illegally transported from there to private mills.
''Following reports that there were illegal transportation of food grains from the godown, the Additional District Magistrate(ADM) was directed to seal the godown for verification of records,'' Mr Hanif told UNI today.
The godown was sealed yesterday by the ADM C P Ramachandran Nair under the orders of District Collector A P M Mohammed Hanish.
The district supply officer was also given instruction to verify the records and give a report this evening , he added.
Mr Hanif said the report would be forwarded to the state government to take action if there was any malpractice.
It is alleged that around 30,000 kg of rice was illegally moved from the godown to private mills.
