'Dola, Tarundeep's honour inspirational for Jharkhand archers'

Jamshedpur, Aug 24 (UNI) Jharkhand Archery Association(JAA) president Tridib Mukherjee said conferring of Arjuna award to ace archers Dola Banerjee and Tarundeep Rai will inspire budding archers of the state.

National champion Dola was an employee of Tata Steel and represented Jharkhand for several years. She, however, joined Railways last year. Tarundeep, a fomer cadet of Tata Archery Academy(TAA), also represented the state before joining Services.

Praising the hard work of both the archers, Mukherjee hoped that other two top archers from the state Jhanu Hansda and Jayanta Talukdar, who won laurels in international competitions, would be adorned with Arjuna award in the near future.

JAA secretary Arjuna awardee Sanjiva Singh expressed his happiness that archery was getting its own identity. He said it was a matter of pride for Jharkhand in particular and for the sports in general that the two archers, who served the state for long, were honoured with Arjuna award.
