Communal tension in MP village

Khargone, MP, Aug 24 (UNI) Four persons have been arrested for hurting religious sentiments in the wake of communal tension at this district's Balsamud village.

''A team of performers came from Delhi yesterday and performed feats with cycles. Later, two cycles' keys were misplaced. A couple of youths belonging to a certain community used a 'shivling' from a nearby temple to try and break the locks,'' said Addl SP Anil Singh.

Tension was generated, members of two communities gathered on the scene and a minor clash ensued.

''Additional Collector B L Kulmi and several police officers visited the area and took stock of the situation. Aslam, Javed, Imran and Shahzad were apprehended. The situation is normal. A police force has been deployed in the village,'' Mr Singh added.
