CAT asks for Centre's stance on guidelines adopted in Sreekumar case
Ahmedabad, Aug 24 (UNI) The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) bench while hearing senior Gujarat police officer R B Sreekumar's petition against the State Government, today sought Centre's interpretations on the guidelines adopted with regard to the denial of his promotion and on the criminal charges pending against him.
The two-judge bench comprising Justice Sanghvi and Justice Shanker Prasad orally asked Centre's counsel Saurav Singh to present the Union of India's stance on the procedures.
Mr Sreekumar has objected to the 'sealed cover' method adopted by the Government on the ground that a 20-year-old case is pending against him when he was District Superintendent of Police of Kutch.
The arguments in the case will continue tomorrow.
