BSNL employees to join all India stir on Dec 14
Kozhikode, Aug 24: The employees of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd will join the all India agitation on December 14 called by Sponsoring Committee of Trade Unions demanding among other things, protection to public sector conglomerates in the country.
The decision was taken at the BSNL Employees Union working committee meeting, which concluded here yesterday, general secretary V A N Namboodiri told reporters.
The three-day meet had resolved to rally all the executive and non-executive sections of the public sector giant in the proposed stir, he said.
The meet also urged the Centre to initiate immediate steps on wage revision of the employees from January one, 2007 and allow 'navratna' status to the company without further delay, he said.
Delegates from 30 telecom circles across the country, including Andaman Nicobar and Jammu and Kashmir, attended the meeting presided over by all India president J N Mishra, he added.
