ACB traps officers on bribery charges
Hyderabad, Aug 24 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths today arrested an assistant engineer in the Panchayat Raj Department in Amthaluru mandal, Guntur district on bribery charges.
According to an ACB release, V Nageswara Babu was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a contractor for doing an official favour of writing and forwarding the M Book for payment of balance amount of Rs 1,00,000 for the works done by the him under MPLADS.
He was produced before the Special Judge for ACB Cases, Vijayawada, the release added.
In another bribery case, Dharavath Erya (25), assistant engineer, NPDCL, Chendrugonda mandal in Khammam district was arrested while accepting Rs 3,000 as bribe from a complainant.
The tainted amount was seized and he was produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, the release added.
