AAI allows Bajpe airport to clear air bags, cargo
Mangalore, Aug 24 (UNI) The Bajpe Airport, near here, has been given approval by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to clear air bags and cargoes, Airport Director M R Vasudeva Rao informed today.
Speaking at the meeting organised by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to discuss about the proposed sky bus service in the city, he said the Airport would invite interested private agencies to handle the cargo and it was ready to provide required land for the purpose. The agency entrusted with the project would also be permitted to fix the charges for handling the air cargoes, he added.
He said hangar facility was also available at the airport to handle cargo availed from Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited.
Mr Rao announced that the Air India Express was expected to commence its international flight service from the airport during the first week of October.
