Relief work on war-footing in flood affected area in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Aug 23 (UNI) Army and four helicopters were pressed into service for rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit Barmer and Jaisalmer districts of western Rajasthan.
According to official sources, the Army was able to rescue about 800 people from the flood-HIT areas.
According to the official figures, 35 people have lost their lives till now due to floods in the state though unofficial figures put the toll much higher.
Civil Supplies and Relief Minister Kirorilal Meena today condcuted an aerial survey of the flood-ravaged areas of Barmer and Jaisalmer distrcits. The state government has sanctioned an additional amount of Rs 12.25 crore for the relief work.
