Officer arrested for seeking bribe from 1984 riot victim
New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) An officer who sought a bribe to release ex-gratia awarded to a 1984 anti-Sikh riots victim was arrested red handed today, the CBI said.
Naib Tehsildar I K Thakkar, posted at Najafgarh tehsil here, was arrested from his office while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 10,000 from the complainant.
He had sought the bribe to release Rs 2,85,833 sanctioned by Delhi Government for the complainant, who lost his grandfather and uncle in the anti-Sikh riots of 1984.
