NTPC signs MoU with Singareni Collieries Co

New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) today said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singareni Collieries Company Ltd, to undertake various activities in coal and power sectors.

The MoU has been signed for the creation of a joint venture for acquisition of coal mines, development and operation of integrated coal-based plants and providing consultancy services, NTPC said in statement.

In addition, NTPC today hiked its capacity addition programme for the 12th plan period to become a 75,000 MW company from about 26,000 MW now.

The company had last month scaled up its capacity addition target for the 11th plan period of 2007-12 to 21,941 MW from 17,333 MW fixed earlier.
